  1. Dacia. People READ it and still misspell it. Mispronounce it. They add an R (Daria, Darsha) It’s horrible. Totally feel your pain.

  2. Whoops, I called you Shee-lah in my video! I was worried that would happen…
My name is easy to sound out but for some reason everyone always spells it without the second A, as in Natlie. Which doesn’t make sense to me because you literally pronounce the second A in NAT-UH-LEE like?? Where do they think that sound comes from?

  3. In elementary school, my friends thought that since my name rhymed with “banana” it must’ve been spelled “Hananah”. They also misheard my real middle name, Ruth, as “roof” so I was Hananah Roof there for awhile. I feel ya!!

  4. Hahaha aw it’s so annoying to have your name spelled/pronounced wrong! 😂 Some people have spelled my name ‘Maggy,’ and others haven’t heard me right when I introduce myself, so I’ve been known as Megan and Maddie, too. Ugh! 😂

  5. That’s terrific 🙂 I cannot believe that anyone would be able to spell it or pronounce it wrong, but then again I had a classmate with it spelled that way so it just seems natural to me 😀

  6. Sorry Charla, I hope I’ve never misspelt you name! CHEILA is a beautiful name, and you’re the first person I’ve come across with it! My proper name is Carol but this post reminded me how when I was little and before she passed away, my grandmother would always write in birthday/Christmas cards Carole, Carrol, Caroll, Carrolle, etc, but never Carol. I definitely prefer Caz anyway, it’s less old-fashioned too! 🙂

  7. I must admit when we first met I wondered how to pronounce your name. I thought it was like “Chella” at first lol! Which is how one of my friends pronounces her friends name. But then you made a post or comment to someone about how it really is☺️ I will go ahead and tell where Lee comes from… my middle name which is Leecole. People say Nicole, “lacole” “Leck-ole” “lay-e-cole” wth lmao and even tell me that it means school. Actually school is L’ecole or something lol so hmph!! It’s simply lee-cole. All together no pause or spacing. I like it because it’s pretty different.

  8. After reading this, you had me checking my last response in another posts to see if I was recently guilty of this. I totally get how frustrating this can be. Some people spell and pronounce my name wrong all the time. It can be tiring to correct them sometimes. Thanks for clarifying the pronunciation of your name.

  9. hahaha too funny but not funny because its a pet peeve of mine about names. With a name like Margaret, people love to shorten it, Mags, Maggie, Meg, Marge, Marg, Margie, Peg/Peggy(which I ever understood) and those are just a few LOL. It’s Margaret! It’s one of those things that all my life people have done, and I politely tell them I prefer Margaret 🙂
