Plans For the weekend – 20/21 January (update)

  • Remember to drink water (1.5 l)

Not quite. I did remember to drink more but I’m not sure I got to 1.5 l.

  • Remember to take my medication on time

Done.

  • Remember to eat fruits and veggies

Did eat plenty of fruit (mostly pears) but not veggies.

  • Make the changes we’ve been meaning to make around the house (bedroom will double as office, office will become closet and guest bedroom), we’ve been talking about it for weeks and postponing every time. We need to do it together as it involves moving heavy furniture.

Oh yes!! It took us 2 days but we got a lot done.

  • Take Rosa to the vet, she might have some ear infection. It’s a nightmare. She turns into a pit bull with the strength of a friggin horse and it takes 3 people to hold her. Those three people end up being bit, scratched and traumatized. Gosh, I’m nervous just thinking about it. My sweet god turns into hulk when she goes to the vet.

Didn’t happen but we’re scheduling for this week.

  • Eat whatever we have in the fridge, I think there’s some frozen soup. Maybe try to meal plan for the week? We haven’t done it in ages, Rui would be pretty happy.

We have found a way to use some leftover chicken, Rui is cooking some fish.

  • Sleep.

Yes. We took about 2 naps together as well.

  • Read. I haven’t been reading at all since Christmas.

I didn’t.

  • Maybe watch a show? I’m behind on a few.

We began watching American Crime Story but I wasn’t very interested because I’m familiar with the “O.J. Simpson probably killing Nicole Brown Simpson and getting away with it” case and the outcome so…

  • If we have time, Rui and I can watch a couple of the movies I’ve been meaning to watch (Oscar nominees predictions), light the fireplace and have popcorn.

There was fireplace for the show but no movie.

  • I tried flannel sheets for the first time (Rui’s grandma Christmas present) and I’m in love, so I think I want to wash them and put them back on the bed as soon as they’re dry, instead of some of our other sets. They’re so comfortable and warm.

They took longer than I thought to dry 😔

  • Cut my hair. Literally. I do cut my own hair and it needs a trim.

Nope.

  • Go and get my eyebrows done.

No. Caveman it is.Plan what I’m going to wear next week, as I’ve been doing for a few weeks.

Nope, but can do it tomorrow. It takes me 10 minutes to pick 5 outfits.Do a 15-minute exercise video and some yoga. Now that I’m working out, I don’t want to slack off on weekends. I really need to do something every single day.

No. I was sore from my intense Friday workout (which means 45 minutes of water aerobics followed by 45 minutes of moderate swimming classes) and I moved a lot around the house so I don’t feel like I slacked.Decide whether I want to delete my Facebook account or not.

I’m pro deleting.Hopefully read a few blogs.

Just a few. Not nearly enough.< strong>How was your weekend? Productive, lazy or both?<

Home office tour – Shared with Mr.R (27.04.2017)

Finally, I have an office tour for you!

The office is quite a small room, with a roof window. It is, however, big enough to accommodate us both comfortably. We access it through a door in the living room. It’s a cute little corner and I love the way it turned out! Check the pictures bellow!

His side:

Same! Those are all planner. I know where I’ve been doing every hour of every day since 2009!

What do you think?

I know, maybe a little too childish for a 25-year-old! But I just love pink and cute stuff, I can’t help it!! I think I’ll be like this forever. My mother used to say I would get over pink and cutesy stuff with age, but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m okay with that! Cute makes me happy!

You know you are free to give your honest opinion!!

Thank you for waiting!

Health for days journey – May 3rd (update)

Hey there,

Did you have a good day?

How are you?

I’m fine, I had a calm day.

Since I have a few things to show you, lets go straight to my to-do list:

  • Read blogs and comment and be up to date on the ones that I follow; – Still need to do a little of this today!
  • Make a list of all the Awards I need to post; – Didn’t get to it;
  • Unfollow people who never interact with me or haven’t posted in many months, or the ones I always read and comment but don’t do the same for me. I feel bad about this but I spend way too many time reading blogs and people don’t even seem to care that I follow them, so I will only follow the ones I like, the ones that interact with others and myself; – Done, went from following 700 people to following 300!
  • Fold and put away a HUGE load of laundry; – Did about half of it, still need to work on tomorrow;
  • Dry and put away the ton of dishes that I washed yesterday and wash the dirty ones from dinner. Story of my life is laundry and dishes, rinse and repeat! – Done. Not many dirty dishes for tomorrow!
  • Clean the kitchen and the living room, at least; – Cleaned the kitchen, including the oven and dusted the living room. Only need to vacuum living room tomorrow;
  • Take pictures and show you my new dressing table; – Done, will show it below;
  • Wash a few blankets and duvet and pillows; – Only 2 or 3 left to wash;
  • Interact on social media (I always forget to do this. People like whatever I post and I forget to return the attention. This bothers me way too much!! It’s just hard to keep track of everything, you know?) – Didn’t have time for it.
  • Talked to my mom and sister on the phone
  • Answered a bunch of comments and published 3 posts;

Food and water:

  • Lunch: Red lettuce, cucumber and raw onion salad with a little past and ground beef;  One orange; An espresso;
  • Snack one: three of those yogurt/jello thingies. They have about 40 calories each. I didn’t mean to eat 3, I meant to eat 2, but one of them seemed off, so I opened a third one to check it out and then had to eat the three;
  • Snack two: 1 piece of toast, half a mug of milk and coffee;
  • Dinner: 1 piece of toast, some tea with honey and a banana;
  • About 5 cups of water, plus this cup of tea. Not too bad;

I have no appetite today, have no idea why!

I’m grateful for:

  • The amazing weather;
  • Losing weight;
  • Drinking less coffee and milk today and more water;
  • The people that prayed for me when I needed them. Every thing is better now, my family member is still hurting and in a difficult situation, but much better;
  • Talking to my mom and sister;
  • A hot shower;
  • My green clay mask;
  • A happy dog;
  • A clean kitchen and living room;
  • Lovely friends!

My new dressing table:

The dressing table is just Rui’s old desk. I love the color and it fits perfect against one of my bedroom window so I had to re-purpose it.

I bough the mirror and a cheap IKEA blank bench to sit on. Super affordable dressing table. The pictures are not the best, I’ve just realized now. I might take new ones soon.

I love this towel because my mother-in-law embroidered it for me. She usually does this kind of thing for me as presents and I love them.

What do you think? I know, more pink.

Kitchen tour!! Aka Rosa’s room!

The time has come for me to show you my kitchen. I love it because it is quite big (for Portuguese standards, anyway) and so it has enough space for cooking and enough storage.

Just another Friday – No taxes and new printer edition!

Hi there!

Are you happy it’s Friday??

I’m having a good day. I can change because Mr. R said I’ve just changed my Karma because I refused to answer a questionnaire at a store and told the lady I was in a rush. He might be right, I was in no rush and could easily have done it but, apparently, I was on bitch mode lol I’m sorry, dear God! Karma, don’t screw me over, please!

One of our local supermarkets was having an amazing sale today, and we had to take advantage of it. They weren’t charging taxes today, which meant a 23% discount for non-food items and 6% for food items. Some of the things were already on sale, which meant a huge price difference. It was really good and I stocked up on some things. In the end, we saved about 40€.

We got a great brand detergent, a big box of 120 washes, that was initial 24,99€, for 8,12€!! It’s an amazing discount and it will last a long time. I’m really happy with this particular purchase!

We also got:

2 cans of Nivea men’s deodorant – 7,18€ for two cans, a 3,60€ discount and an additional 0,66€ of tax discount, we ended up spending 2,92€ for the two cans, which is less than the original price for one (3,59€);

2 tubes of Colgate toothpaste that originally cost 3,49€, with a 1,75€ discount and an additional 0,33€ of tax discount, ended up costing 1,41€.

We got many things but these were the best deals!

We also got a new printer! We were not planning on getting a new one, just needed to buy the ink cartridges which are quite expensive. We would have to spend about 40/50€ on them. While we were looking, we saw a printer that we liked, that cost 45,99€ and came with an additional black ink cartridge. We would only have to buy the color one, which would end up a total of about 70€. We considered it, since our printer is about 3 years old already, but we decided we would check the price for the cartridges at another store. So off we went, and we found the exact same printer on sale for 35,99€!! A 10€ difference and the fact that it was a super cheap but good printer made us decide to get it. We would only have to buy the said color cartridge. When we looked for it, it was also on discount, costing 15,99€!! We came home with a new printer for 35,99€, plus an extra free black ink cartridge and a colored ink cartridge for a total of 51,98€. We are pretty pleased with our purchase.

This is our new printer:

Isn’t it cute? I love the green! It will look super cute in our office!! I’m really happy about it!! 🙂

We will print a bunch of pictures to fill all the empty walls we have in our home! I have a bunch of picture frames to fill in and I’m doing a gallery wall in our bedroom! I’m really excited about it.

We have also being looking at paint colors because the house is in desperate need to be painted, but we are going to wait until Summer for that. But we already have a pretty cool idea of which colors we want to use.

I have a recipe to share with you and also a kitchen tour, I’ll post it later today!

I hope you are having an amazing Friday!

Do you have exciting plans for the weekend?

We might go to the beach, since being close to the sea helps with our sinusitis.

Love you guys.

Tiny bathroom tour – Get ready for more pink!

Now it’s time for my bathroom tour.

I actually hate it because it is extremely tiny and I was used to bigger bathrooms before I moved to this house. I can overcome the fact that we only have one, but it bothers me how small it is. We can barely fit in there to brush our teeth at the same time, so we usually have to take turns. The shower is quite big (you couldn’t see it behind the curtain because I didn’t clean it, haha), it has doors, which you can’t see behind the curtain and a window! I love it because it’s bigger than the one we had in our previous home and the water pressure is great!

I try to keep the bathroom nice and clean so I can hate it less. I’m pleased with how it turned out after the redecoration (it was decorated in an orange theme before, which I hated) so It might start growing on me. I still need a toilet paper holder, a towel rack and to hang 3 picture frames we are using to decorate the wall. I also love my turquoise seat!

Let’s get to the pictures, shall we?

P_20170427_195527
Pink toothbrush holder and soap dispenser!

Lots of toilet paper, so no one runs out! And we usually have bidets in Portugal. Are they common in your country?

Shelves again, don’t know why!

I’m so sorry I take shitty, unedited pictures. The lighting was not the best either, despite the fact that the bathroom is one of the rooms in the house with the best lighting. It’s evening and the sun is setting but during the day it’s really bright!

We loved the pattern of the curtain and decided to get accessories in such colors. Pink, turquoise, blue and brown!

What do you think of my little tiny bathroom?

Do you have a big one or are you as unlucky as I am in the bathroom department?

xx

Some thoughts and updates!

Hey guys!!

It’s 5.46 p.m and so far we’ve only been lazy!!

Rui is sick so he’s watching (and loving) 13 Reasons Why, while I catch up on some blog reading!! We haven’t talked much these past few days (me and you, not Rui and I lol) and I feel like we should catch up.

Things I have to tell you:

  • In my IKEA adventure description, I forgot that we stood in the store for about half an hour, trying color combinations on the plastic box shelf, until we decided what to buy lol. For the structure we had to choose between black and white and for the boxes there was green, yellow, black and orange and you could mix them up. We spent way too much time, putting boxes and taking them off until we decided what colors we wanted. We are such freaks!!

  • In our ridiculous ride home, besides the super full car and little me stuck inside, Rui was wearing sunglasses and some sort of beach hat, and looked like a drunk tourist. Can you imagine the scene?

  • We are almost done with the office, just need to get a few things in there and organize them. It’s really much nicer than before, both our areas (I’ve told you we share) are looking good and separate.

  • The rest of the house is a HUGE MESS! We should get to that soon. We have garbage bags full of paper and things to throw out, bags with things to sell and donate, things that are completely out-of-place, etc.

  • One of the oldest bookshelves that was in the office before (I have it since I lived with my family and I brought it with me when I moved out) fits perfectly in the bathroom and solves our bathroom renovation and tiny place problem. It’s perfect for towels, toilet paper rolls, some plants, etc. It fits perfectly in a little corner, leaving enough room in a bathroom that is so tiny! Also we get rid of that old, rusty, drawer cart that we had there and that I had brought from my old bedroom! Yay!!

  • I have a huge bag full of picture frames that we need to hang. We just don’t know where we want them. We need to pick them and decided which ones go to what room! Also, we need to pick and print the pictures we’re going to use!

  • I haven’t decided where I’m going to put my 30-pair shoe rack that was in the office before. The bedroom? Bathroom? No idea.

  • My dressing table is looking good and makes our room look much nicer and put together. Also, my makeup and cosmetic stuff are organized!

  • Our closet or wardrobe or whatever you want to call it is so old and looking like it might fall apart. If I didn’t need the storage I would throw it way this second!

  • We have some humidity issues in our bedroom, the walls need to be cleaned.

  • The whole house needs to be painted but we are probably only doing that in our Summer vacation. We are certainly buying better paint than the one the walls have on right now and definitely humidity proof.

  • The initial goal Rui had and still has for his vacation is fixing and painting our outside walls and change our fences. We also need to work on the garden and plant some flowers and clean up a bit. Let’s see if we have time for that.

  • The small (cube) bookshelf that I had in my office will go to the kitchen and will become some sort of coffee station! We have two coffee machines now, since I’ve brought the one that was at the office home. I could store it but I have coffee capsules to use that can only be used in said machine, so I will be using it along with the other one!

  • I want to take advantage of Rui being home and clean behind and under the stove, the fridge, the furniture, etc. Spring cleaning. I love to have everything spotless.

  • I’ve brought two trash bins from my office, I will use them to start recycling. Yes, I don’t do it now and I am ashamed of myself.

  • Yesterday I bought some capsules for my hair, because it has been falling a little. Have you ever tried something like that? My grandmother used to dip a jello sheet in water and then drink it, she said it would help your hair, skin and nails. I thought about doing that but I’ll try the capsules first!

Would you like to see some pictures of our mess? They work amazingly as pictures of the “before”!

Hope you enjoy it!!
