Surprise Christmas Basket Giveaway Winner + Question of the day #22 (UPDATE – My answers)

Remember my Surprise Christmas Basket Giveaway? I’m a bit sad that most of you chose not to participate.

Anyway, some people did and there’s obviously a winner:

Bravo Joy, who blogs over at:

https://lightredgold.wordpress.com

Dear friend, congratulations!!

You’re getting a box full of goodies as soon as you email me at: pinkfordays@outlook.pt

I need: First and last name; address; favorite color; birthday; 3 things you love; 3 things you hate.

I won’t say what’s in it until you decide if you want to share the contents here on my blog, once they get to you 😊

Now, let’s move on to our questions!

Do you celebrate Christmas?

How was Christmas?

What was your favorite thing about Christmas?

Where did you spend it?

Was there something you disliked/hated?

Tell me about one of your Christmas traditions (not your family’s, not your parents’, YOURS).

Did you get presents? Do you have a favorite?

Are you still recovering from Christmas or getting all excited for New Year’s Eve?

❤️🌹😘

My answers:

Do you celebrate Christmas?

I do. We’re catholic. I mean, both our families are catholic. Rui and I believe in God and have faith but we don’t actually commit to a specific religion or church. If we’re asked, we do identify as catholic, though.

How was Christmas?

Absolute crap to be honest. Family drama, my sick grandmother, some annoying family members, the whole deal.

What was your favorite thing about Christmas?

When it was over.

Where did you spend it?

Christmas eve at my mother’s house with my Rui, my mother, stepfather, sister, grandmother and uncle. Christmas day with my in-laws with Rui, my mother and father-in-law, my brother in law, uncle and aunt (Rui’s but I call them uncle and aunt anyway) and grandmother and grandfather (Rui’s, but I call them grandma and grandpa anyway).

Was there something you disliked/hated?

Need I say more?

Tell me about one of your Christmas traditions (not your family’s, not your parents’, YOURS).

I throw a Christmas Party for my friends every year on the 23rd of December and we do Secret Santa.

Did you get presents? Do you have a favorite?

Rui and I don’t usually get gifts to each other. I think we stopped doing it when we moved in together. However, this year, we decided we would get 10€ and see how many cute and fun things we could surprise each other with. Funny thing, we went to the same store separately and chose the exact same gift bag for the other, by accident. Nice coincidence.

I got a few very nice gifts. My family got us both H&M gift cards and paid 50% of our new washer as a gift. My mom-in-law gave us a really nice, sturdy and fancy pot and a REALLY wonderful bag for me. Rui’s aunt got us a set of towels and his grandma got us a set of sheets.

From our secret Santa we got a pair of fluffy sleepers and a pink notebook (me) and this ping pong kit to make our dinner table into a ping pong table (him).

Are you still recovering from Christmas or getting all excited for New Year’s Eve?

Gosh, I’m definitely still getting over Christmas but I have had to start thinking about New Year’s Eve, even if it’s just to decide if I’m doing nothing. We though about throwing a party but most of our friends are already busy (that’s what you get for asking 5 days before) and our family members always complain we live in the middle of nowhere so, I have no plans or any idea at all.

And the Winner is…

And the winner of the best love story giveaway is…

Amanda Dunn – Adventures With Amanda Dunn

I haven’t told her, I want her to see this post and be surprised 🙂

Here’s her lovely story:

Mine and Jad’s story is like film! 🙂 we have been best friend’s forever – both had other boyfriends/girlfriends but best friend throughout. Then in 2009 we spend more time together ans on a drunken night out we kissed 😐 ha. We were still buddies at this point, but slowly grow closer and closer. A few months had passed and we were like a proper couple, but kept up with our “just pals” barrier. Then one night, Jad was rushed to hospital and I had found out through his Auntie. I rushed to the hospital and bumped into his mum who had a note saying “tell Amanda” with my number on it. He was so happy to see that I was already there. There and then he said he loved me and that was it. We stuck by each other. Turned into a real couple, naturally. 💙💙 we always joke that he asked me to marry him before asking me to be is girlfriend haha! Anyway, we are now married. Been together for over 8 years and still best friends! 💙💙💙 such a soppy comment from me haha.

Thank you for sharing with us, dear Amanda!!

And here’s the gift you’ll receive as soon as I get your address:

person

Two key chains: One with A, for Amanda and one with J, for Jamie. I really hope they like this present.

250 New Friends + Mini Giveaway

I’m happy to report that I have acquired 250+ followers in less than a month. I got to 1000 on May 19th and today, on June 14th, I’m happily at 1252 + 7 email followers.

This means so much to me because I think, I mean, I know, I have been slacking a little. I’m not posting as often or as much and I’m not working as hard as I’ve been for the past few months.

I’m way behind on some people’s blogs. So behind that they have stopped coming to mine. Oh yes, I do notice these things. They may think I don’t care but the truth is, I’m just overwhelmed and behind on my blogging work. I’ll get to them and, hopefully, they will keep visiting my blog once they’ve realized I still care about theirs? I hate losing friends. On the other hand, I’m a little hurt that some people will stop commenting and reading if you don’t visit their blog for a few days/weeks. Moving on…

Being a current slacker, I’m happy that my blog keeps growing in numbers. I wasn’t expecting this since my views have been a little lower since I haven’t been posting as often and not reading other blogger’s work as often.

You may ask as many times as you wish, but I will keep telling you I have no idea where these people come from. I honestly don’t. And I don’t care, as long as they’re here.

Anyway, to celebrate another milestone I’ve decided to do a mini – giveaway. But you’ll have to work for it. Oh yeah. As I’ve told you, I’m doing a new vlog on Saturday, to answer the questions left by my readers on my recent poll. I would like to have a few more questions, so I’m giving away a 10€ Starbucks Gift Card for the most original question that you can come up with.

If you want to participate, you just have to leave me a question (or 20) in the comments. The most original question gets the gift card. It’s not much, but I want you to have coffee or tea or a cookie on me.

I’m re-blogging my get to know my readers post, so my new followers can introduce themselves if they wish to do so. If you’re a new follower, I’d be so happy if you would answer my questions and leave me a few links to your posts.

Thank you so much for the support, old and new.

You make my days.

Health for days journey – May 31st (Goodbye May, Hello June edition)

Good morning everyone,

It’s 10.46 a.m here and I’ve been up since 8ish.

I’ve had my coffee, more specifically my Vienna cappuccino. I haven’t had breakfast yet, because I have no idea what to eat. I miss my oatmeal. Do you think she misses me too?

I’ve written a post to go up soon, the third in my Perfect Party Series.

June 10 • 4pm1594 Brooke StreetSugar Land, TX (3)

Now and until about lunch time, I’ll be answering comments and reading your posts. I’m late with both, as usual.

Earlier today I have announced my Giveaway Winner, Mis. Cherylene Nicholas. I adore her and I’m so happy for her. I adore everyone who participated but the choice was randomly made by the site, which is good and fair.

And here’s my to-do list for today:

  • Priority one: Gardening. I want to plant the seeds I’ve bought yesterday, water the garden and plants, pick up Rosa’s poop and wash her “bathroom area” with bleach, pick up a big bunch of weeds, branches, leaves and pine needles and transport them from the garden to the vegetable garden. So they can be turned into fertilizer? I think that’s why Mr. told me to take them there. I’ve also offered to do some weeding  in the veggie garden and now I have to do it, otherwise Rui wins. Lord help me. It must be hot and I’m lazy.
  • Priority two: Damn kitchen. Today IS the day I cleanup the whole thing. Kill me if I don’t, please. I hate it when I plan on doing something and then just procrastinate for one reason or the other. Makes me feel stupid because I write it down and then don’t do it, even if no one is going to read it.
  • Priority three: Laundry. I need to get it from the clothesline, fold it and put it away before I lose control of it.
  • Make some Jello. And it’s fresh and yummy.
  • Change my sheets. Mr. R came to bed last night before I could do it.
  • Drink my 1.5 l of water.
  • Do my yoga.
  • Write a few postcards.

And I’m not going to commit to anything else. Later today (or tonight) I’ll be publishing my May recap and plans for April post.

Now, it’s time for:

What’s Up Wednesday

wuwquestions-edit-969x1024

What we’re eating this week:

This: Thursday Meal Plan and Recipe Share

What I’m reminiscing about:

The fact that another month has gone by. Just generally thinking about this time last years and thinking about May in general.

What I’m loving:

Still loving gardening and my plants. I love doing it and can’t wait to go and plant more seeds today. And baking. I bought a new cake decoration kit (I’ll show it tonight) and a few coloring decorations and I can’t wait to test them.

What we’ve been up to:

Fighting over a cat. I want to adopt a 2-month-old blue-eyed beautiful kitten and Mr. R doesn’t so… I’ll obviously lose. He has his reasons, of course. But I’m sad. I really wanted another family member, my biological clock would welcome her with open arms and she’s just so cute and would make me feel happier and more complete. But you win some and lose some, right. I was going to call her Flora, by the way.

What I’m dreading:

Cleaning the f****** kitchen. And studying for my German exam, still. Exam season in general is making me nervous. I have to go through 8 and I should have started studying a while ago. But that’s okay, I can find plenty of free time.

What I’m working on:

My garden and plants, sending postcards/letters and finishing my June studying schedule.

What I’m excited about:

Spending the 1st of June (Children’s day) with my mother and stepfather and expecting a gift. (Sister, you’re reading this. Tell mom I want a gift. She knows but just keep telling her so she won’t forget).

What I’m watching/reading:

I’m not reading the 100 books I have started and haven’t finished. I’m reading blog posts. I’m watching YouTube videos, Orange Is The New Black, Big Little Lies and looking for something else. WTF is Twin Peaks?

What I’m listening to:

Nothing much. Still La La Land soundtrack and our song that won Eurovision sometimes.

What I’m wearing:

Shoot. Right now? A blue sweater and panties because I’m in bed. Sorry, not decent.

What I’m doing this weekend:

Catching up on doing nothing.

What I’m looking forward to the next month:

Same as last week. But also I’m looking forward to know exam dates and to studying.

What else is new:

I might take a nap now. Nothing is new.

Who wants to join me? What’s up with your Wednesday?

Just link back to me so I can read your answers to the questions. Would love to have some company!!

P.S. Why do I keep getting followed by companies or businesses? What do they get from reading a personal blog? It seems like I get some every day. No idea why.

See you later? xx
