“Blogging Tips” – What I think works for me – VLOG (10.06.2017)

Hey guys,

I promised a vlog, and here it is.

As you can see for yourselves, I look very awkward and nervous and my nose is crooked.

Also, my lipstick is actually red, but it looks orange.

I got dressed and put some makeup on just to do the blog.

It was recorded at first attempt and edited by my dear Mr. R.

In case you decide to watch, I’m sorry.

Sharing your truth and honesty is the best things to write and share because so many people will be able to relate, or take advice or inspiration from it. Whenever you go online, you’re right ANYONE can see and some of those people may be creeps, it’s scary but as long as you don’t share TOO much, like your address etc. Blogging and trying to be professional is definitely a lot of work and feels stressful when it becomes like work, especially with no pay. Or you’re putting in so much work, time and effort, engaging with everyone but it seems like your blog still isn’t growing well or getting the engagement it could. You brought up a great point about it being YOUR blog. Many of us need to keep that in mind for ourselves and other bloggers. I love you so much more for this because you’re so comfortable to do this and post it even if you felt so nervous! And I feel like I know you closer, being able to see and here you. It’s your first time, you did a great job and you’ll improve. You look beautiful alsoπŸ’–

Oh my god Cheila! It was so nice to SEE you!!! How freaking cute!! It takes so much courage to put yourself out there, thanks for sharing your tips πŸ™‚
Being more “me” on my blog is definitely something I am aiming at!

Aw, Cheila, I really loved this! I like how you pointed out that just because you post a lot in a day doesn’t mean your blog is better. You have such a cute and sweet voice, and you are a beautiful young lady! Keep blogging the way you do! ❀

Sorry I’m only getting to this now, (after almost a month, shame on me), but I would like to thank you for your super sweet comment. I really appreciate it. I really think that the number of posts you publish in a day has nothing to do with quality. You can do an awesome post once a week or 3 awesome posts in a day. You can do mediocre, bad… all in the same conditions. Thank you for watching. ❀

OH MY, Cheila!!!! It’s so nice to see you and your voice is so sweet!!!! ❀ And I love all your tips– you said it all accurately! And I really agree on the part when you said “the same people comment in my posts and they hardly change” (the words aren’t exact but you know..aha), that works for my blog too!! But anyways I really loved that vlog and I can’t wait to see more vlogs from you!!!! πŸ˜‰πŸ’—πŸ’—

I’m so sorry for such a late answer but I could not leave you without one. I’m so behind πŸ™‚ I’m glad you like my voice, I always think it’s childish. I have done another vlog after this one and will do a few more, I hope you like them. Thanks for watching, it is quite long ❀

Sorry I’m only now answering your comment for such a long time ago. I’m not trying to be a vlogger, but thank you for saying that I would be good and believing in me. I’m glad you loved my video, thank you so much for watching ❀

I know you were nervous but you did great. My vlog would have been read the Bible, post verses, and some pictures LOL You are right about what you said, be authentic, be honest, be kind, participate, show support. I was happy that I’m not the only person who doesn’t do social media. Friends and family are baffled by this. I’m baffled at how they keep up with all of it. I can barely keep up with my little blog, much less, twitter, facebook, instagram etc. I appreciate what you said about reading the content. I take the time to read the blogs I go to. If someone likes a post of mine or comments I take the time to go and read their blogs, like it(if I like it) and comment if I have something genuine to say. I’m generally shy so I didn’t feel, at first, that my comments are of importance but then I figured well if they don’t like my comments they will just block me or delete it LOL But I appreciate it when I know someone is ACTUALLY reading what I take the time to post, rather than just clicking “like”. Cheila you did great. πŸ™‚ You said you didn’t feel it was teaching us anything but there is good information in this vlog. Thanks for putting it, and yourself out there. That’s why your blog is doing so well. :):)

Awww I absolutely loved watching this, Cheila! Thank you for making this vlog for us πŸ™‚ I love the way that you blog, and your tips were very helpful. Girl, I don’t know how to use social media for blogging, either!! Maybe one day, lol. You had me smiling throughout the whole video, and I laughed a few times, too. I cracked up when you said “No offense to your grandma,” or however you worded it lol! I hope you’re doing well, Cheila. xx ❀

Cheila! I love that I can now put a voice to your face πŸ˜€ It was so much fun listening to you ramble, it’s almost like having a chat, except obviously it’s more one sided XD
I agree with most things you said, blogging is very personal. You should write what you want, as you’re the one putting the work into your blog. We differ very much on planning though, as the thought of not planning for my blog scares me XD But like you said, you wanted to talk about what works for you πŸ™‚
I also don’t know how to use social media to help my blog, I view my Insta and blog as separate really, except that I follow lots of the same people on both platforms.

This was great πŸ™‚ some great tips πŸ™‚ and lovely to have a voice to your posts πŸ™‚ I know how you said you were nervous, but it made it so much more natural and unstaged πŸ™‚ one of my friends has said for ages I should do a vlog, but I don’t have the confidence, maybe this will spur me on! πŸ™‚

I love how you’re honest in your blogs! We need stuff like that- you need to be yourself, what’s the point in hiding yourself from the world!

Ps I love your hair! Is it naturally wavy like that?

Thank you, dear!! I’m so glad you liked you. You should definitely do a vlog, even if it’s just once, to try it πŸ™‚ You might like it. Being honest and kind are my too main principles, I would say. Hahaha thank you, it is πŸ™‚ I had some wave cream on, which makes them better defined, if I do nothing it doesn’t look so good πŸ™‚

Wave cream! Maybe I should try it! My hair is a little similar to yours and a little wavy at the bottom, but it’s just a bit dull! Maybe I’ll try some! I need to do a bit of a beauty product/toiletry shop so I’ll see if I can find some then πŸ™‚

I love it! I love it!! I love it!!! I agree with the rest – so nice to finally attach a voice to your face. You got a super duper cute (a tinsey tiny bit higher than I imagined) voice. I know only angels can have such a mesmerising voice and strikingly beautiful face AND awesome hair.
    Great tipps you offer too.

P.S. The size of the video is 447 MB. That’s huge especially since my WiFi is down at the moment. There are ways to cut down size without affecting video quality. I recommend HandBrake.
Other than that, you’ve got to do this again. I love it!!

Wanted to watch this earlier, but was working all day! Can I just say how gorgeous your hair is? Also, the connection/community aspect is why I started blogging and it’s such an important part to me. The openness and honesty is what drew me into your blog, so I’m glad you mentioned that as a tip! Blogging your way is the way to go, I totally agree (: and I understand how scheduling posts could make it feel like work and take the fun out. I like that you post randomly cause it’s a nice surprise to my day (: thanks so much again for talking to us and replying to comments xoxo

Cheila, it’s so good to see you! I have videos up on YouTube for advice for teenage girls and it takes time to feel natural in front of the camera, but you did very well. You stopped and remembered to breathe when you needed to calm down, lol. I love your honesty and putting yourself out there. Love seeing people doing the things they want to do. Good for you, girl. By the way, I had emailed you a few days ago. Did you get it?

I wouldn’t say that it’s useless. You look so cute and I finally got to hear your voice. I like how you spoke about every tiny details – subscribers and readers aren’t the same, the link between number of posts and views! And you’re right… At times I get worried if I’m putting too much out here for anyone and everyone to see. And I love that you’re honest and straightforward. And at times, I feel like my blog has turned into a burden. I go through these phases of writer’s block where I neglect my blog until I can start writing again. But I’ve found something that I love creating (flash fiction) and I’m on a writing marathon lately! I’ve also got a couple of posts saved away to be used in case of emergency (read: writer’s block that takes way too long to go away!) I love that you took the time to share your tips with us. 😘😊

I’ve finally listened….you sound so cute😍😍😍…and relatable tips too…I agree with getting more views when you publish more than One post a day ..then again you have to be available to interact with readers.. This isn’t a useless vlog..I enjoyed watching

Cheila, this Vlog had a very important message. Be yourself. You are exactly that in this Vlog and your posts and comments and every single aspect of your blogging experience. I think that is why you resonate with so many people and have so many followers. You are yourself, and yourself is awesome!

I would like to do a video but it isn’t an option with this plan.. which do you use? any recommendations? I also don’t have a fancy camera just my iphone 6S, do you think it would work just fine?
