Perfect Party Series #8: Lee

It’s time to introduce you to my soul sister Lee, who blogs at Golden Pink Journal. We first bonded over our blog names, because of the word “pink”. We’ve bonded over many other things since and that’s why we call ourselves soul sisters. We have so much in common. A similar childhood, similar ways of thinking, similar problems happening at the same time. Lee is one of the few blogger friends I exchange emails with. We’re just that close. I love her personality and I feel like I’ve known her for a long time. I also have the privilege of being the only one in our blogging family who knows her first name, because sisters just have to. (Am I still the only one, honey?)

Do you know her? She’s quite popular so I’m sure you do. If not, I would love if you took a moment of your time to go over to her blog and get to know her better. She’s so worth it. She blogs about many different subjects and has quite a few series going on. She’s a writer and she gifts us with a new short story every saturday.

What do you think about her new header image? I’m in love with it. The pink, the font, the color scheme, just perfect! Also, the words have everything to do with her. She’s inspiring, loving and creative.

She’s a cat mom to Izabelle, a gorgeous kitten she has recently adopted. I mean, just look at her:

She’s also mom to two Guinea pigs, I wish I remembered their names. They have a YouTube channel, though, so you can check on them.

Lee writes poetry too, having a whole category dedicated to it.

Here’s one of my favorites:

Letter To My Mother Away

Mother you’re away still

I’ve never been able to celebrate with you for Mother’s Day,

or any other occasion.

Every year I watch all the other sons and daughters with their mothers

I tell my aunt Happy Mother’s Day! But it’s just not the same…

She has her own children

Like you have your own

But you left yours to be all alone

High off life without me

It couldn’t have been easy

But it was harder being low and sober

You needed it but you didn’t need

Me as a baby, and the thought of you leaving

The pain makes me queasy

And I blame you for many things

The root of my pain

But I never hated you

I still love you

Even when I barely know you

It’s such a shame

How do you even remember me?

You told me you didn’t remember my little brothers name

But I still love you

I was still happy I could be there with you for a moment

and you were okay

It felt like a miracle

I was in the hospital only months before from that car crash

Then there I was

Walking through hospital doors

To meet you alive

Smiling and laughing

Giving me advice for the first time

Promising we’d keep in touch this time for the second time

It was the best day of my life

I thought I’d finally have you in my life

And I did for a while

Then Mother’s Day came around

You were no where to be found…

Mother away

It’s been about 2 years since then

I haven’t heard from you since

But I’ve been told you’ve been seen and you’ve been asking about me

Is it true?

But if you really wanted me

I know you could find me

just like I found you

Still I love you

And I have hope

Broken hope

That has not died

And If it’s not too late

When you come around

(Please don’t wait

to come around)

I’ll be by your side

This poet was written to her mom, in a post where she talks about their story and her relationship with her mom:

https://goldenpinkjournal.wordpress.com/2017/05/14/short-story-saturday

Every day, I look forward to her Today’s to-do, where she shares her list of tasks for the day and updates us on her progress. You know I love lists, so this might be my favorite series of hers. I love to know how she spends her days and if you share any tasks for a given day.

Fun Friday is another series of hers, posting something fun and different every Friday.

My personal favorites:

Fun Friday #10: Playlist Edition

Fun Friday #7

Fun Friday #6: “Meet Izabelle/Izellah?”

Fun Friday #4

As I’ve told you before, she has a series called Short Story Saturday:

Short Story Saturday: Izabelle’s Edition

Short Story Saturday! “My 1st love/heartbreak”

Short Story Saturday: The Beauty in Lyric

There’s so much more to her blog. I hope you go over there and check a few of her posts, maybe give her a follow? I would be really happy if you did.

I’d like to finish with her answers to my Perfect Party Series questions:

What was your favorite thing about my party?

It was so unique! I’m actually upset that I made it a little late but apparently not too late – The party lasted 3 days!! So I was able to still make an appearance and some new blogging friends:)

Did you get any new followers or views because of the party?

I did get a few and I followed a few💕

Did you make any friends?

I did💕

Dear Lee,

I have nothing but love for you, my sister. We have so much in common and I feel so lucky to have met you. We’re both damaged but strong, aren’t we? I admire you so much and I love being able to follow your journey. I’m always here for you, you know that.

Love,

Cheila

  1. Lee, that “Letter you to my Mother away” was so personal, sad and yet beautiful all at the same time! Like Cheila said you are a strong person. Great to meet you Lee! Looking forward to learning more through your blog. Thanks for sharing Cheila! 🙂

  2. Cherry said it all. That “Letter” was a lot of things at the same time (see Chery’s comment for explanation 😀 )
Also, I’ve always had a hunch that PJ Queen has a strong personality and just might have a cat (err.. not sure about how a cat came into the hunch though 😂😂). And Chey just confirmed it. Nice getting to know you (wait, if I didn’t know you before, how did you get crowned? 😂😂).

P.S. I’m heading over to your blogging home right now!!
    Thanks for sharing, Chey.

    • I’ve always had a hunch I would be some cat lady lol and actually something funny and ironic… in high school my aunt got me a pajama set…. with cat heads all over and paw prints omg I would still have them if I didn’t out grow lol. I’ll have to view your blog when I get on my laptop as I couldn’t hit follow from my phone😩

      • That’s because there isn’t any follow button. My subscription is via email. You can, however, follow via your WordPress Reader.

All you have to do is to go to your reader, click on Followed Sites > Manage > Paste http://www.harmoniousjoy.com in the text box at the top (“Enter URL to follow”) and done!

  3. Awww yayy I’ve been waiting for this☺️☺️ I wish I could have had a lot more to say about the party like everyone else since they were there most of it, but I still loved stopping by and being able to catch some of it✨ it was such a brilliant idea and so is this series.
Thank you to everyone who has commented such nice things already and thank you Sister! Yes you are still the only one that knows😎💕

    • She’s good with her words, indeed. I love her writing. Hahaha it’s because we have so much in common. I mean, I had never met so many girls that I can feel so close with and that share so many of my views before I was a blogger. Now I take selfies and pictures of things, which I would never do before and I think “Somewhere across the world, Angela is doing the exact same, taking a picture of her sandwich” lol That’s a strong bond

  5. Cheila thank you for letting me know a more about Lee. I have been following her a for a couple of weeks now so I did not really most anything of what you have put out here. My heart breaks for you, Lee, as I read the poem you wrote for your mother. I hope she reads it someday and knows of your pain. Love and hugs xx
