Once upon a time a poor little lady was washing dishes from a whole week…

She was probably looking really sad, wet and miserable, while washing over 20 plates, endless glasses and so much cutlery. But the worst, the worst were the old Tupperware containers. Nothing is as bad as washing stained, greasy plastic.

Her prince got home from work and noticed how tired his lady was from hours of washing.

He said: “No more. We’re getting a dishwasher.”

She said: “What? No. Come on. We’re not getting a dishwasher today. It’s expensive.”

He answered: “How much is it? 400€?”

She replied: “About 200 and something”

He looked into his phone at his catalog app. He found a dishwasher for 250€.

He said: “That’s it. Go get dressed, we’re getting a dishwasher right now.”

He turned the water off. He turned the water heater off. There was no more dish washing for his lady.

She got dressed in her best sweats and sneakers and off they went. At the store, there were about 5 to choose from around the same price range. The asked the sales adviser which was the best. He said they were pretty much the same, so they chose the prettiest one. How happy they were about their new washer. They went straight to the supermarket to get dishwasher salt and detergent. They got it on sale too, what a happy day. Then, they went home and set it up. They immediately filled her up with all of their remaining dirty dishes. Then: Start.

“How lovely she is” – one said.

“And how silent” – the other added.

They lived happily ever after, waiting for the cycle to finish, so they can see if she is any good.

Oh, the joys of impulsively buying appliances.

  6. Ahahaha loved the tale about the dishwasher-happy lady. I think she should treat her boyfriend/husband to a month of cupcakes or burnt brownies, whichever makes his day. Congratulations C! Greasy plastic containers, go weep in a corner.

    • hahahaha so many people have told me they use their dishwasher as storage. I’m cracking up. And it definitely doesn’t wash them as well as a good scrub.

      • Considering some people don’t wash their dishes well, I think dishwasher still do a good job. My aunt never clean her dishes well like it always has a oily feeling on her dishes. It just visibly clean. XD

          • lol We never shy to each other. I still remember my mom told my aunt (they are sister) that she will wash all dishes again for her. XD XD That was funny and interesting enough that no awkward moment XD

    • I’m surprised we bought one now. We’ve been trying to delay the purchase because we’ve bough a stove a few months ago. Appliances are not that cheap. But we’re happy we bought her now. We’ll probably need a washing machine soon because ours makes the saddest little noises so this might have been a mistake in timing haha. Not nice if she breaks down in the next few months and we need to buy another one. 3 appliances in one year is rough lol

      • Oh yes, they are expensive. We haven’t had to buy any huge appliances as we’re still renting, but should we move to a new place (which we hope to), we may have to buy quite a few. Here’s hoping your washing machine can hold on for a bit longer 😀

        • We rent too. But most houses come with no furniture or appliances, you have to keep moving your own. Maybe that’s why our washing machine is giving up. We’ve bought her second hand so she’s not that new to start with and then we have moved her twice since then. Poor thing must be tired. The fact that I do so many loads each week must not help either. Thank you, honey. Oh and we might buy an extra freezer soon because we need extra space too freeze all of the veggies that are coming from our veggie garden this Summer, so I was wrong about no more appliances this year.

  14. We have a dishwasher. We use it to store extra dishes because we don’t have enough cabinet space. I believe it was never installed correctly so it leaked when they did use it so now 5 years later we don’t even try. lol
