- I’ve lost a little weight. Not much, just about 2 kg. Being sick does that to you.
- It’s been extremely windy here for so many days. It’s annoying because I want to do some gardening and the wind is very uncomfortable and it doesn’t help at all. I try to water the garden and get soaked, my poor plants just bounce away and I don’t feel like being outside at all.
- The fact that I’ve been sick has left our house in such a state. I mean, there isn’t a clean room in the whole house. There are so many dishes, laundry, I need some groceries, there’s dog hair everywhere, I haven’t changed my bed sheets in over 2 weeks, Rosa needs a bath, I need a shower… I mean, nothing is taken care of. I was about to cook dinner yesterday and then I realized I couldn’t be up. I was too sick to stand up so I had to lay down, put everything back in the fridge and send Rui to pick up some roast chicken and plain rice, so we could eat something and so that I could keep something in my stomach. I just called to set up a doctor’s appointment but since I have no doctor, I should have called before 4 p.m. Okay, then. I’ll call tomorrow. It’ll probably take me a month or two to get a random doctor to see me, then he’ll refer me for an endoscopy which will probably take a month or two to be scheduled. And you guys ask me why don’t I just go to the doctor lol
- My mother just got a brand new kitten. She’s so beautiful. A blue-eyed, two-month-old little thing called Daisy. Get it? Gatsby and Daisy? I named the first one and suggested the second. I have kitten fever, I wish I could have one.
- Is should be ashamed of myself because so many of my pen pals have sent letters and postcards and I have yet to answer a single one. I was the one who started it. Shame on you, girl, shame on you.
- It’s funny how people in general just use your ideas and present them as their own. It has been happening so much for the past few months. I get very pissed about it. You work hard for something and then some bright soul decide that they should be doing it too. What the fuck?
- I should have started to study by now, but I haven’t. I have all of my notes organized, though. I just need to get a few books from the library. I took a picture of all of the things I have to study (not all but about 3/4) so you could lose your mind and think “there’s no way you’re going to be finished by July 7”, which is probably true. I haven’t lost hope though lol
- I’ve been having the craziest dreams. Not nightmares, just the craziest, most farfetched dreams. Such trips, you have no idea. If I would bother to write them down I would have about 10 novels and 300 short stories. Would they be any good? Probably not.
- I hated my home office when we first moved. When I first saw the house, the lady who lived here had some sort of sanctuary going on in this room. A table full of sculptures of saints, I don’t know, just so many religious objects. I am sort of catholic but I hate such things because they creep me out. I don’t like crosses or rosaries or saints or any of those things hanging around my house. I can come up with two different reasons for that: 1) My grandmother forced us to have a bunch of those things in our rooms when I was little I was scared of the little figurines and didn’t thing they belonged in kids rooms. 2) Those are the first things they mess with in horror movies. If there’s an exorcism, you bet the demon or whatever will break/bend/destroy/explode how many crosses he can find. Rui and I share a great fear of being in an empty catholic church at night. We both talk about how that would be the scariest scenario ever. Anyway, whatever she had going on here, freaked me out. Apart from that, the room was super small, weirdly shaped with a descending ceiling and only a ceiling window. From the start, I told Rui he could have it as his man cave. Then we moved and I decided I definitely needed the space, for my desk and for storage. He was pissed but he understood. Then we did our remodel and this has become such a nice space for me. I have my bookshelves and my “working” materials, which means school and office supplies, my plants and good lighting. I spend so much time here now. I do feel claustrophobic sometimes but that’s because I’m too short to open the window AND the last time I tried, a small lizard fell down from the outside (almost on top of me).
- I have so many pens and pencils. I have a really hard time choosing what to write with. This might be my biggest first world problem.
- I moved out of home 2 and a half years ago which means I’ve had my own home for a long time and have only now started to separate our trash to recycle. Rui says his family plants a lot of trees every year so we’re probably forgiven. I say where the scum of humanity. Are you environmentally conscious?
- I’ve been… not so happy about blogging. Sometimes I ask myself what is the goal of all this work. I confess I have thought about closing the blog and being free from all of it. It does take a lot of work, a lot of effort and so much time. I get tired, sometimes.
Questions?
In what ways do you help the environment?
Can you keep your house clean and organized?
How’s the weather where you are?

So sorry you are feeling so bad 😦 AND that someone is using your ideas. I don’t have that problem my blog is just verses, and when I see them in other places, well they came from the Bible LOL I hope we see pictures of the kitten, Daisy, I love kittens. You’ll get the studying done but it’s hard when you don’t feel good. Love, love, love the pictures! The little sprouts are so encouraging, the mugs your mom got are adorable and the eggs looked so good, I’m going to make egg salad 😉 Feel better soon my friend 🙂

I hope you’re feeling better. Daisy is such a sweet name. Will you be posting pictures of her soon? I hate it when people steal your ideas and take care. It’s so not cool or fair. I’m sorry it happened to you, dear. As for the studies, try to commit slowly initially and pick up the pace as you go on. That usually works for me. 🙂 I’m sure your dreams will make amazing novels and stories, no matter how far-fetched they may seem to you. We’re often our harshest critics, you know that, right! So I’m sure it’ll be much better than good. Omg, lizards! No wonder you don’t open that window anymore!!! Haha, I think I have way too much pens than necessary too. So I pick one at random and use it until it runs out of ink. Then I’ll choose the next one. Maybe you could try that!? 😉 I’m environmentally conscious but not quite as friendly as I’d like to be.
As someone who’s plugged the plug on two different blogs, I understand that last part. It takes a lot of work and effort. I get that. And sometimes it might seem overwhelming but it’s going to get better. It’s all about finding your niche – write about anything and everything you want. And don’t listen to that harsh inner critic! Whatever you do, please don’t stop blogging, dear. You can always take a break, or reduce the posting frequency if you feel like it’s getting two much… This is a passing phase. Don’t worry too much about it. 🙂
It’s very rainy here and I’m fighting off a cold but it’s not as bad as it sounds. The climate’s cool and wonderful! It’s actually making me more lazy!
Lol I love the way you captioned Rosa’s photos 😂
That’s a very pretty flower indeed!
Hydrangeas are looking beautiful!
Take care, dear. ❤😊

😮 WordPress wouldn’t be the same without you, at least for me. But I understand how overwhelming it can get because some days I don’t want to blog at all, or I’m too stressed which is why I set Sunday’s off. If you’re not feeling in the mood take a break if you need too. I feel like if you closed it you may miss it or something, you worked so hard on this blog! Many people have connected to you or found something helpful of it, so you’re here for a reason. Don’t throw away your hard, beautiful work. Just take the time to retreat and relax until you’re well again.✨✨
I’m sorry people aren’t giving credit when using your ideas, that is frustrating and discouraging. Maybe they will read this and realize? Maybe not.
On a lighter note, Rosa is looking too adorable sunbathing and Daisy sounds so beautiful! Hopefully we get to see her☺️💙

I’m so jealous because a. kittens??? I have a cat but he’s old and a complete jerk and b. the nice sunny weather. Texas is like infamously hot during the summer but lately all we’ve had are thunderstorms and rain 😦 Okay and I’m catholic sometimes and all of the decorations freak me out like no thanks….. And I actually forced my family to start recycling and composting when I was like 8 because apparently I really cared about the environment back then???? And the flowers look so nice !!! I kill all of the plants I have 😦
And I know how you feel about the blogging thing… I write like one post a month and it’s too much work for me…. But don’t delete !! So many people would miss you, I just recommend posting less (I mean that’s what I do..) I hope you feel better soon 🙂
And you’re dog is so cute??? My dog is a hundred and thirty pounds and yesterday it was thundering and he knocked me off of the couch because he was so scared

Dear Cheila, there’s so much to comment on and I think these random thoughts are such a cool idea. I wish that I could remember my dreams. Only every once in a while does something stick around after I’ve woken up. I have about 6,000 pens and I’m always going through them to find the right one. The others just stick around as back up.
As for blogging, you really have to ask yourself the reasons why you do it. If you aren’t trying to make a living off of it, then just back away, or better yet, take a hiatus. But I like to think of my blog like my online autobiography, and one day you may feel the same. You’ll enjoy seeing the things that you were concerned with, what your life was like, etc. I made a goal to post something everyday, but when I miss a day because of whatever reasons, I forgive myself. I want to always enjoy it because I know my personality. If I don’t enjoy something, I lose all motivation. You’re doing a crazy amount. If you just want to engage with people and share your thoughts, just do that and that only. No one will fault you. I’m glad I held onto my blog even though I stopped writing for over a year.
Have I said that one of my dreams is to have a beautiful garden? I admire so much people who can keep plants alive. Your corner of the world is so bright and colorful and happy! Sending love.

I know so many others have suggested it and I agree, take a break! If it’s not working for you just take some time off and focus on other stuff. You can always come back if you want. I would get upset if people were stealing my ideas and it is a lot of work for you not to get credit! Let me know if you ever want to chat. Love you Cheila!! ❤️

Yay, another pocket full of random. I love this, it’s like having a long random convo. There’s a lot to take in. I would die over a kitten, Daisy and Gatsby are perfect names, and I do actually get it. That’s one of the classics I actually read 🙂 I had no idea people were stealing your ideas and not even crediting you. I like to borrow ideas from fellow bloggers but I give them full credit, it’s just good manners y’all. I can never remember my dreams, and when I do, they’re literally me at work, so I wake up confused that I have yet to go to work. Very mundane. Lowkey, all those religious paraphernalia freak me out too. Especially since I started watching horror movies again. The blogging thing I have felt similarly about. It comes in waves. I’ve found I’ve thought about stepping away from blog more when I’ve been having a bad day/s. It just feels like a burden. Then the other waves come where I could never imagine stopping, and I want to write even more. I’m gonna parrot what everyone else said, take a break. Maybe just from posting if you don’t want to leave completely? Or even from reading posts, I know you follow lots, and it’s hard to try stay on top of it (especially when you have someone like me who posts all day every day XD ). You’ve got a lot on your plate with taking care of the house/garden/Rosa/Rui/Cheila (yes yourself)/exams/your tutoring job, etc. This got really long yikes. Take care 🙂

Sorry you’re not feeling well, and I’m hoping you feel better soon. ❤
You put tons and tons of work into your blog so it's totally understandable that you might feel like you need a break or something. I see bloggers do it all the time. Or maybe give yourself more of a break with it by posting just a few times a week or something so it's easier and hopefully more fun again? I hope you stick with us here, because it's a pleasure to chat with you and it's clear that many others enjoy it too. Take it easy though, and do what makes YOU happy though. Your blog is your blog, so run it however makes you feel best. 🙂

Hmm you are overburdened, C. But maybe, just maybe, it would be a good idea not to pull down the shutters on the blog? Maybe give yourself a break from blogging for a few days? A hiatus might just make you feel refreshed. But it is what works for you that you should do (you know that Cathy shall miss you beyond words). The photos are lovely btw. Missy R gets a lot of cuddles from across the waters, and hello, that last caption with the bowl of eggs made me snort.

I hope you feel better. Don’t worry about the small tasks that have piled up, resting and taking care of yourself is the most important thing! This stuff can all be done later.
I really liked this post, pocketful of ransoms. Also, great photos. Please don’t leave WordPress, I enjoy reading your posts and I have just started following your amazing blog! (I’m being selfish here) As others have suggested though, it’s good to take a break and really unplug from things that are not fun to you anymore. Take a break and see how you feel like in a bit.

I agree with the rest, Chey. Take a well-deserved break and come back. I’d miss you but I can see you need it. And when you feel refreshed, you can come back. And I’ll be here waiting. 😀 😀
Because for blogging to really feel like it it is worth it, you got to really why you’re doing it. Only then can you enjoy it. Take care.
