I just came back to say I have written 150 posts (actually 155, counting this one) in 2 and a half months. How are you guys not sick of me???
To celebrate this very nice number, I would like to ask you for advice! Yes. It would be amazing if I would be able to gather 150 pieces of advice. I might not get that, but any advice is welcome.

Hmm, my piece of advice would be… Keep your head up and keep going, no matter what. Life’s got a lot to throw at you, and you can’t duck it — you have to face it with all you got. 🙂

I feel like I talk about this quote a lot, but I really love it. I view it as advice. I saw it on tumblr or somewhere back in my early uni days, but it made me more aware of how I interact with other people. “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”. There’s lots of people who I’ve interacted with, and while some I have forgotten what they said/did, but I remember how I felt with them, and how they made me feel, good or bad. I want to leave a positive impression on other people, and on the world in general 🙂 😀

My favorite saying is “Hard work never hurt anyone” and I try to remember that when I’m doing particularly nasty things like yard work. Everything we do is work but little of what I do is “hard” work so I try to keep it in perspective. 😀

Best advice I’ve ever gotten was “you can learn something from everyone you meet.” This can be something good or bad depending on the person and situation. Hopefully good though! 🙂

This applies to all 3 of your questions. Everything you do comes back to you times 10. If you do good, or if you do bad, it will come back to you times 10. So, do good. This also applies to all 3, you chose and allow. You can’t chose how people treat you or what life will throw at you BUT you can chose how you react to it and what you will allow it to make you feel like. 🙂

Woohoo! 150 posts…that is amazing 🙂 Some might think it’s crazy, but that just means that you’ve had a lot to write about! I wish I did, as well, haha. I think the piece of advice that has helped me the most is that most things you worry about never happen. It’s so easy to obsess over what’s making us anxious, but looking back, we can see how we were stressing out over nothing. It’s the perfect reminder for me when I’m scared of something that MOST likely won’t even happen. 🙂

Life has taught me never to act or react when I am emotional because I always become a part of the problem and not the solution.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
Moving away from a problem never works because where ever I go, there I am, meaning I am still taking me with me and taking the problem also.
What is some advice that you always follow
Always have enough room for one more which may be a sleeping bad on the floor and a cup of soup and sandwich, and your heart will always smile and sing.

My mom always tells me, “If your dreams don’t scare the shit out of you, they aren’t big enough.” I also love the quote “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”

I think that I’ve learned recently that if you really want something, you have to go after it no matter what people say. I think you have to be fearless in that sense, it’s hard to want something but fear the ridicule. Everyone has to start somewhere.

life has taught me not to make a big deal about the small things. try not to get upset about the things that really don’t matter, like laundry that didn’t get put away right away. live in the moment. be grateful for your family and who you are spending time with at that time. don’t take out time spending with family to worry about the little things

Congrats on the 150 posts! Picking one piece of advice is hard… I would say that life is not a race, that the milestones we feel we should reach at certain points in our lives are socially constructed and are not a measure of your worth or achievements. When we should settle down, get engaged, go travelling, have a stable job and a career, have a child, move out of home, get a mortgage, have a certain income, etc. Everyone goes at their own pace, everyone values things differently, everyone has their own challenges and obstacles. Don’t measure yourself against social expectations. Live your own life on your own terms because you don’t owe anyone a reason or explanation.

This is so hard to follow, isn’t it? We tend to feel bad if we don’t follow certain rules or don’t live up to certain expectation. But we shouldn’t. It’s a great piece of advice!

But I can’t help comparing myself (the advice-giving Sicilian Mama), with all your incredibly wise Mamas that you guys have quoted and feel that I’m really not up to the standard here ;). So my two cents’ worth of advice is: Listen to the Mamas.

So, what has life taught you?
Life is too short not to take chances and go after the things that make you happy in life. Never be afraid to chase your dreams. They won’t come easily, but you’ll never achieve them if you don’t bust your ass in order to do so. Life can be really hard sometimes but it is worth living, so never give up.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
Probably that you have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with others and help others. I have always tended to be a people pleaser, to the point that I would hinder myself to help others or not step on any toes. When my mental health hit a dangerously low point I finally had to make some hard decisions that I didn’t necessarily want to make because I don’t like to rock the boat EVER, but I’d hit such a low that I don’t think I would be where I’m at with my mental health now if I hadn’t. I was like a frayed rope just waiting to snap and needed to step back and do some major soul searching. It’s still a work in progress, but I feel like I’m healing now rather than falling further apart.
What is some advice that you always follow?
Treat others how you want to be treated. Be kind. You never know what someone else is going through and how a simple act of kindness can turn their day around, even if only for a few minutes.

What my life has taught me? – Life taught me that there is no REWIND. You can’t go back on things that you’ve done and you’ve decide for. If you make a wrong decision, you have to accept the consequence whatever it is and learn from it. BUT if there’s time machine and I have a chance to go back, I’ll go back to where I’ve done mistakes in my life and correct it.
What is the best piece of advice I’ve ever gotten? – This is from Cinderella, “Have Courage and be Kind”. Being courageous is being resistance to fear as you face your life challenges. Kindness make you the most beautiful in the world no matter what you look like.
What is some advice that I always follow? My dad always remind me to be kind, humble, have respect to elders and most especially have faith in God.

In two months?! hahaha what a surprise! well, my advice is to smile even when you don’t feel like smiling, it will trick the brain into thinking you’re amused, it will release some hormones or something and your mood will rise. I know, my explanation is not very scientific but you have to try it though, it really works!
